Sakurajima, from the ferry

Sakurajima recedes into the distance. The folds and layers of its skin.
Leathery like an elephant,
the one that was swallowed by the boa constrictor that the Little Prince drew.

(insert here: line drawing of the outline of the mountain, with the island tapering off into a line on either side)

There you have it.
Sakurajima being digested by a boa constricter as it passes my vision from the ferry
back to the Kagoshima mainland.
