Seventeen
(from "Around the Fool Moon")

Can you teach me,
Ocean, how do you begin
Each wave
Where is the point that you
Lift up from your
Volumes
And rise one
Billowing sail
Fill it with
Breath and release it
Back into
Yourself

Earth Day

Earth Day at Beppu Park

Yesterday was Earth Day .
It rained in the morning, and the skies were changing through the day, making it a wonder-ou
s
mood, not knowing what would come next.

I felt grateful for the chance to participate with our Shake Your Soul in Oita team, and to meet and collaborate with Koube (ใ“ใ†ในใ‡, guitarist and singer/songwriter) who accompanied our yoga dance performance.  This is one of his songs, Bu-ran-ko,  illustrated by artist Kenta Yoshiga.

We danced on the grass... at first in the rain, which felt cleansing...children and adults joined us... with umbrellas which were dropped gently and gracefully to the ground as the sun lit  up through white clouds and  we became the swings...

Thank you !

Happy Earth Day (everyday!) to all!

I feel the heartbeat of your soul

Where does the heart go
when the body is no longer here?

Where is the soul?

I can't tell you the answers separately,
but together it's like this---

Your heart is here the same as always.
I feel its beat between chiffon-like waves.
The viscosity is more real and maybe that's
the soul who is surrounding the heart.

Yes, your heart.
Surrounded by living, flowing
soul.

Pink Carpet in the Making

After full blossom there is the making of the pink carpet. As wonderful as seeing the cherry blossoms in full bloom, is the pink carpet that is e

Pink Carpet in the Making

Try to catch a petal
petalling
A ripple
rippling
The wind
winding
A spiral
spiralling

Watch a blossom
do it's dance
in the air betweenthe branch
and where it softly lands

Catch one in

Suddenly---Spring!

Sakura and a sutra to ring in the season.

With a full moon (not pictured:) in between the blossoms.

Contemplate the entire universe as
A magic show
On the grandest scale imaginable.
Fabulous art, an immense painting in motion.

God is a magician whirling galaxies of fire
Juggling atoms, planets, and us.
Everything, everything is fleeting.

Meditating in this way,
Great happiness rises in the heart.
